Hannah Quinn - Personal Training qualifications:
Since qualifying as a personal trainer in 2010, I've added many areas of fitness training to my skill set.
Pre and Post-Natal Training
When I had my children and experienced a severe Diastasis Recti, I was very limited as to what exercises were safe for me to do and was advised by my GP that if I were to try exercising I would need a pre and post-natal qualified trainer to ensure that I didn’t make the condition even worse. At that time, I couldn’t find a qualified trainer local to me, and so I was limited as to what I could safety do. When I qualified as a personal trainer, I knew that I wanted to become qualified to teach pre and post-natal exercise to give my pregnant and post-natal clients the reassurance that they can work out safety and effectively.
Kettlebells
Back in 2007 I first heard of the ‘new’ exercise called kettlebell training. I was unable to give it a try until I had my Diastasis Recti fixed and decided to give it a try in 2008. I loved the results that kettlebell training gave me with the many compound movements involved and quickly progressed to heavier weights. I was amazed at the quality of workout I could get with minimal equipment.
Pole fitness
After starting pole fitness classes I loved it so much that I quickly became an instructor myself. I loved the strength that pole fitness created and the flow of movements that could be linked together to make a routine made it such a fun way to work out.
Boxercise
I loved boxing in my own training when I used to attend Muay Thai boxing classes and wanted to be able to provide a form of this to my personal training clients. I decided to qualify with Boxercise because it was suited to giving boxing sessions for my personal training clients. I really enjoy boxing with clients and I love to create new boxing drills and combinations to keep training fun and interesting.
TRX
(suspension training)
This is a great piece of training equipment using body weight as the total resistance for the exercises. I really enjoy using the TRX with clients because it is very transportable, doesn’t take up a lot of space and is very versatile. The TRX is also great to take to the park and hang over a tree or urban gym to get some outside training.

Level 2 & 3 Counselling skills
In 2023 I gained my level 2 and 3 counselling skills qualifications. I felt that whilst my job as a personal trainer/fitness instructor focused mainly on my client’s physical health, it was also a time during sessions that some clients felt emotional and mental benefits too. I wanted to better support my clients in both their physical and mental well-being so I wanted to better support them with the appropriate skills and qualifications.
